Default Fuel Dyes and Kevlar Tanks?

Is there a safe dye for fuel which woulld make the fuel level easier to judge when using Kevlar tanks?

Thx, Don.

Glad you asked that question Don, I need some also as I have started using DTE Lite oil instead of turbine oil and the oil is colourless, impossible to tell if you have mixed it with the fuel!

Quite a lot of kerosene around here used to have pink dye in it, and that worked just fine.

Just be careful about the fact that your fuel lines may get dyed too, making it harder to see bubbles etc.

Personally, I can see the fuel level in my BVM Kevlar tanks just fine without any dye. It may depend on your brand of tank and just how thick they have laid the material up.

As for Gary's issue - I avoid that by only ever having 'raw' kero in one particular jug that is specially marked. That's he jug taht I take to Ace Hardware to get filled with new kero, and the kero only ever comes out of that jug into another when it gets mixed. So, any of my fuel jugs that do NOT have a big black 'N' (for "No oil") are known to be mixed fuel.
