Default What to buy? (Crawling)

Hello,
I may soon be in the market for an RC car. adding to my already hectic list of hobbies.

I'm not sure what to buy though. Here's what i'm looking for.

I'm a jeep enthusiast, and I like the rocks. I'd like an RC that will take on the rocks and uneven terrain. I've toyed with too many cheap toystore RC's that come up to something no larger than a pencil and have problems getting over/past it. I want something that will flex, and i mean FLEX. Solid axles (no Independant suspension). I just dont know whats out there, and what performs.

I have an excellent knowledge of how a Jeep's suspension works, and it looks like a lot of the RC chassis i've look at online use similar, if not identical, setups, 4-link setups, coil-overs, just on a MUCH smaller scale. Which chassis seems to work the best? It doesnt have to be competition grade, or cost a fortune (in fact, i'd like to keep the cost as low as possible, for a decent hobby rig).

I'd like it to be electric, not gas powered.

I'd also like it to be upgradable. So i can put a little money into it now. and put more into it later if i decide i want to change things.

From what i;ve found online, the "Clodzilla" looks promising. But there appear to be multiple models (2 3 and 4) What are the differences?

Thanks for any info!

It seems that you are in the market for a TXT-1 by Tamaya.

either a TXT-1 or a modified Clod.

if you want out of the box crawling i would gor for something like the TXT-1. but if you like to build and mod and generally make things look as far from stock as you can the clod is a popular choice.

here is a site with vids to give you an idea
(and its a jeep body)

I still say that the clod are cheating by having the entire transmission and motors in the axles...

The TXT-1 just looks sooo much nicer...

the x factor is more rock racing.
if u have some money to play with go with a geco frame for a clod.
if u want one out the box go for a txt-1.
the cj 8 body will fit it and i will get pics of mine on here.
it will back up a wall stock on a good bat pack.
