Default tourer to monster

Hi
I need some advive!
A couple of days ago a mate had the idea of trying to turn our basic touring cars into fully off road monsters, on a budget of £30.00. I was wondering has anyone done this before who coulf give me some tips. I am starting with a old Yokomo MR4-TC special if you wanted to know. When we have finished pics and vids will be on there way. should be a laugh big airs all round.
Cheers

you should have used a HPI Nitro Rally. You can turn that into a stadium truck. I know that for a fact. I don't know about the other vehicles. You need longer arms, and dogbones. and probably 2.2 Truck tires.

yeah that would be good but with only a limited budget i dont think it could stretch. I am looking at savage dogbones and planning to build longer wishbones. As for tyres i am going to use my old mad bull ones. They are not great but frees up some money for other stuff.

savage dogbones don't fit on your yokomo and you can't even fit mt2 ones cos you've got universal driveshafts. and you should have started with a Tamiya TG10 it'd whup your ass (as in donkey of course)

Yeah i just realised thanks. Instead i am just going to use most of the budget on super large kick ass (as in donkey of course, lol)
wheels and tyres and use a capacitor i have got to give the extra power. What would you do if you were doing the same project with the Yok?

Why don't you guys build a dragster instead. It will be much easier. Just stick some smaller tyres on the front and take off as much weight as possible.

That also sounds cool maybe after the monster we could go onto drag. But we really decided to do monsters because of some clips from the other forums and they look so cool when they get big air. We have found some really cool jumps in our local parks that look fun.

drags maybe next

Cool. On the idea of dragsters, some people just make a longer chassis and put no gearing from the motor to the axle, or a tiny amount! I have just finished a boat and i am using no gearing so it should go pretty fast.

Keep the tips coming give me the edge when it goes onto the drag race. Hopefully by then i should have got my hands on a brushless motor system which should give me the edge.
