plain old sub c, just a regular car stick pack. i wouldn't bother though. the thing doesn't need a wicked pack to work. most of the time, mine starts on the first hit of the button. i have two cheap d-trax shark packs. i've never had to change one out in a single day.

Agreed...a PAIR of NiCad1500 mah packs is like $25-30. You don't need NiMH (but of course they're nice if you can score them cheap!), but you DO want to get two batts!!!!

Sub C? The starter kind of looked small in the pictures/videos and I thought it would be more like 2/3AA's

So they're plain sub C's? not 2/3 sub C's?

I might get them premade, but I made the 5 packs for my RC plane and they all work great and cost much less than pre made ones.

Thanks

cool. just hate to see someone throw money away when they don't have to. i have over $1200 in my savage, and i try really hard to not spend money on things the truck doesn't NEED.
