Default JR 12X compatibility

I stopped flying back in 2019, took a hiatus. Being it is now 5 years later, do the Spectrum Receivers still bind with the JR? I have used a few Orange RX with no issues, but I see a new 8 channel Spectrum out that would work nice in a plane I am assembling and the stabilization would be a nice feature since its a warbird type I have yet to fly. I have a P-51, couple actually, that I fly, but this is for a Corsair, so some stability to get to know the plane with would be nice.

It says DMS2 and DMSX, and I don't remember what the JR is, just that it binds with Spectrum, and Orange.

The early 12X radios were DSM2 with the later versions being DSMX and Horizon offered a DSMX upgrade for $75.00 plus one way shipping.

There have been some issues with all the newer more complicated rx's coming out what with some of them require a different chipset that doesn't want to play with a DSM2 tx. Your 12X will either say "DSM2" on the top center of the radio just below the antenna and also on the right side of the screen when it's powered up. If it's DSMX, it will say that on the top center of the radio instead of DSM and the right hand side of the display will have the "X" displayed.

If you need some radio help, head on over to RCGroups and visit the radio forum. Lots of sharp guys post over there (and some not quite so sharp) and you have Horizon engineers answering questions in that forum.
