Square drive shafts

RE: Square drive shafts
I have made several designs, both cylindrical and square, and have attempted to machine a few. The square tubing idea seems to be the easiest. The idea was to allow the shafts to telescope about 3/4" or so, and mate to dogbone ends to go into cups on the truck's differentials and transmission. I made a couple of aluminum universals, but never went anywhere with them.
There are lots of plastic units out there, and also some steel replacement driveshafts from people like [link=http://www.rc4wd.com]rc4wd[/link]. They seem to be pretty stout and not terribly expensive.
If you make some of your own, do us a favor and post some pictures. Good luck!
