Detailed photos of rigging lines on a Nirvana II
I just joined this forum and have removed the cobwebs from my Nirvana II after about 12 years. I had problems with control response and thought I'd have to replace the receiver. Megatech had sent a new radio set (FM 86, 79.910 Mhz) to me shortly after my buying the boat, as they said that the original system (FM 68) might have issues. My RC gear now seems to be working. I suspect that the frustrating intermittent failure to respond to control inputs some years ago might have been due to the rudder servo lines becoming fouled in the control/battery compartment (I saw a YouTube video that mentioned that) rather than a radio issue; or perhaps I had attached the hatch cover backward, such that the sail lines servo arm was contacting the cover.
The jib sail control line was broken, but I found the proper routing of the line in a screenshot of a YouTube video. Fortunately the break was not at a point where it might interfere with line in/out action. I also just downloaded a user manual.
Megatech seems to be out of business. Does anyone know of a spare/replacement parts source? Any recommendations on replacing the radio TX and RX with newer units?. Thanks for any info. A new local sailing club has been formed so I am looking forward to using by boat again.

I recently picked up a Nirvana II and looking to restore it. The RX was the first thing I replaced. The Radiolink r7fg RX fit really nice, and has telemetry. Powered by a 5cell Nimh 1600mah battery pack I built. Using the stock servos as they seem to be working fine. The condition of the boat was ok, The mast was snapped and the Mast head was in pieces. Fortunately it came with a new boom in that package. Looks like they were going to fix it but gave up. I designed and 3D printed my own beefer replacement Mast head. The sails are in poor shape and I'm trying to find some replacements (I cant 3D print those

I'm also creating new mast rings and a replacement hatch cover. New Rigging lines etc. I like to get this back into the water again also. We have a club meeting in June and hope to have ready for its madden voyage.

Many people now use FlySky FS-i6 Transmitter and FS-iA6B Receiver.
That is used by the largest boat class in the world, DF65. I use this for my Victoria and DF65. The Tx shows Tx and Rx voltages on its screen.
Carr Sails will make anything you need.

also, how tight should the shrouds be? Using the wire hooks, you need slack to attach, then they are very loose. Tightening at top with the 3 hole adjuster, isn't very easy.

You need bowsies ( 3 hole adjusters) on all lines to keep proper tension. They're usually at the bottom, near the deck.
Im sure you can download a manual. I have done this for all my boats.
Shrouds would not normally go to a forestay attachment. Usually, the are attached to screws in the side of the mast, about 2/3 of the way up the mast.
