Default soldering

Is it ok to soder wires together to make and extention from switch to receiver and battery.

Yep, just make sure the red wire is mated to a red wire and a black wire is mated to a black wire or else you will end up with a melted, smoking pile that was once your battery pack. Then get some heat shrink tube and put over the soldered area to prevent shorting.

Also, use the same gage of wire for your extension.

However, if it is an extension from the switch to the battery and or receiver, it is better to just buy an extension that has connectors (they come with conncetors for all radio brands) already installed and just plug into the battery, switch, and receiver. They come in 6", 12", 24", and 36".
