Wisher models
I got to go to Oshkosh earlier in the week and one place I went was the museum. Common to have models under the real planes, but I looked and recognized some of them. Many of the models were from Bob Wisher. They populated the magazines of the 70s and 80s, and he gave hints when he and his wife wrote the AMA magazine scale column. That time period was the big time for a 14 year old with an Ugly Stick and a Royal Spitfire, and here they were alive and well. I snapped some quick pics. This is from the time when the biggest engine you could fly was a .60 two stroke; the planes are small, but they have a delicate softness. I remember from an article that the Ryan was totaled so its a rebuild. I saw him fly his Piel Beryl which he won the World Champs with at the NATs one year.
