Default GP Ryan STA-M Firewall Issue

Hello All,
Asking this for a friend who inherited this aircraft. It is built with a Saito 1.20 and he didn't like the cowl fitment. When he took the cowl off and got a better look he made some observations. There is definite right thrust built into the firewall box but there also appears to be some up thrust in the firewall. The firewall seems to be assembled correctly as all the interlocking ply pieces are in correctly. The supplied GP engine mount also shows with a square that is too has some up thrust in it. We know it shouldn't but this is the way it appears. Is the up thrust on the firewall correct? Another problem seems to be that with the engine thrust washer correctly placed at the 5 7/8" mark recommended in the manual there is too much space from the spinner back plate to the cowl front (about a 1/4"). Is there anyone who can look at their STA and let us know.

Thanks in Advance,
Ted
