Default T-34 hull fractures

When I got my t-34 it always had a few small cracks in the hull (mostly on the front lower hull) that made me deathly scared of driving it too hard, so I have stayed on soft carpet and occasionly driven it over a book or something even. The other day though I noticed a signifigant crack in the bottom leading up the side, noticably weakening the mounting of the left idler wheel. What should I do? should I try to glue/brace it back together? I don't want to have the hull get damaged any further.

I would brace it with some polystyrene sheet plating and use an epoxy as the adhesive.<div> The WSN brand of tanks use a much more brittle plastic than the HL and Tamiya tanks. This can be fixed just takes a little engineering. I run my T-34's very hard with battle systems in them. they hold up well if taken care of and looked after properly.</div><div>But they are not the best for strength.</div>

You could use any hobby 2 part epoxy but I just use JB Weld. Dont get it on any moving parts because they wont be if you do. LOL

Get some liquid cement and let it seep into the crack PLUS, a small piece of styrene over the crack (if possible) to hold the two sides together.

This will make it stronger than before.

Any materials besides styrene I could use?

With using the stuff I use (Ambroid Pro Weld) you can take (Styrene) Butyrate, ABS & Acrylic or plexiglass. Anything that will let a chemical reaction occur (melting the surface) to mate to that plastic hull. The cement alone should work, just the overlayer of material is an overkill and just to make it stronger.

I haven't ever cracked my tanks hull and have been thrashing it around for 5 or 6 years, maybe? Are you sure a screw isn't too tight?

No, the WSN hulls are just.... not very good in my opinion. The screws for the hull to upper hull are not tight at all, and the crack is seperate from those areas. I put some JB weld down and tried to smear it into the cracks, I guess I will see how well it holds later.

The only thing is, that JB Weld is not a porous type glue. It works much like epoxy. You need a penetrating type of glue/cement for this repair. Or even a thin super glue or CA would work.

I just push the Ambroid because I think it's the best all round, but you need something to seep into that crack to stop it from getting bigger and to bond correctly.

Just my opinion.

Lol....Have you seen my e50 thread? Its plastic, just use a solvent glue that works with the wsn plastic and glue it.....not happy with that?, get some 1mm-2mm plastic card and some small screws( I find old plastic radios a good sorce for small screws)....glue and screw the plastic card into the bottom of the tank( just do not drive the screws into something inportant like the gearboxes) and paint......anyone asks....just tell them it mine damage repair.

I would recomend a liquid glue for the cracks since it fills in by capilary action. Then re-inforce it on the inside with two part epoxy and a angled metal reinforcement and or gusset. DO NOT drill any holes. The plastic is obviously weakened enough already without more holes. Good luck. I hope you and your family will make it to Danvile this spring for the Extravaganza.
