Default pix from my tank outing

Yesterday I went up to see if the County had opened up any of the back roads in the high country. Not yet, still several feet of snow on the roads.<div></div><div>I had my Panther G with me on this outing and some figures and props for shooting pictures. The bright Sun and the snow made for lots of glare so I was not quite as happy with the pix as I would like&hellip; but here is some of the best examples to enjoy. Some are as is, and some I altered with the software on my computer.</div><div></div><div>The theme is a German unit in Northern Italy pushed up into the Alps by Allied forces. They are trapped and looking for &ldquo;options&rdquo;.</div><div></div>

fantastic scenery and a great backdrop. Beautiful countryside. That Panther would make a great bobsled on some slopes I see.
Looks like a Hollywood set. Nice photography.

With an off road range of 100km, those Panthers wouldn't have gotten very far without fuel supplies!

Downhill on one of those steep slopes are great for gas mileage You have never lived until you have gone downhill in a tank with both tracks locked[:@]

Every few years the highway dept. puts a CAT over the side in a snow storm. I knew a operator that took a good slide down into the gorge. He was OK but shook up, he does not work for CDOT any more.

This is the Uncompahgre Gorge. My buddy plows the snow here.<br type="_moz" />

I'm... still... laughing... out... loud... (deep breath) still...

That's cool!

Boy, that tourist sure gets to see all the great places.

I think the German officer behind you is attempting to get your attention... I hope you have your papers in order.<br type="_moz" />

I would sure like too.

June 3 is booked, with out of state family here, but the wife is OK with taking the camper over later in the summer and she can visit family over on the Eastern Slope while I play tanks with you guys.

Nice pix. Tell your friend that it looks like Normandy. A little barbed wire and some landing craft obsticals would complete the scene.

I understand how much effort it takes to transport tanks and props out to some remote location to shoot pictures. It's fun but a lot of work. When I see other people go to that much effort it just adds to my respect for all the time and energy they put into their tanks.

I live far from the coast, but I think the beach would be a great place for tank pictures.

Lets see... a modern AFV on the beach, with a good zoom lens you could have girls in bathing suits as a background! Hmmm, I need a road trip!

I did a mini outing yesterday and one of the pix came out. This was shot in a friends front yard. Soon grass and wildflowers will be here, but for now it made good tanking. I just hope there are not tank tracks in the new grass when it comes up.
