Panther G with new sound set
It has been awhile since I posted any video. I reworked the Panther sound set, and added Dynamic turret sounds with braking. I still think the Benedini offers the best tank in motion sound effects. The cannon and start up files are just simple wav recordings which everyone has, The difference is in how the Benedini manages the engine transitions. Here is where it really shines, with the engine revving and other subtle transitions.

You're right Dan, that really does separate the Benedini from the others. Excellent Panther you've got there.
My sons are about to buy a PC just for gaming, so I'll be grabbing a cable from you so I can get the full use of my TBS (so you guys know what I'm talking about, I love the Benedini, but only have Apple products, so I can't program it, Dan did it for me when I purchased it. Being able to program and assign function it is half the attraction of the system)

Yes that is what I think as well. The ability to customize your sounds, and try new things is what keeps the Benedini current. I have to put in an order for cables as I have sold out. I encourage people to just try the Benedini with sounds I have programmed, to get the effect right out of the gate, and then do some programming later. With everything there is a learning curve( Benedini is simplier then most), but once you get it figured out the world of sound becomes and interesting aspect to the hobby. Of course we aren't all wired the same so some will never really enjoy that aspect, and just want a simple Plug and Play, so that is what I provide out of the gate.
I have been playing around trying to get the throatiest sound I can. This Panther does that, but it is somewhat lost in the youtube upload. You can almost feel the sound of this one.
I am going to try some new Sherman sounds as well to try and get the deeper bass.

I have some music editing equipment here but my neighbor is a professional with a studio in his home. I lend him instruments all the time, I bet if I showed up with some files and a few pints, I could get some seriously enhanced sounds. I know the Benny, amp and Visation can handle some wide frequencies.
Since the StuGs fifth and sixth channel aren't used, I'd like to use them with sound. Maybe a crew member yelling 'scheisse' or something at the flip of a switch.

Nice one Dan. It sure does separate itself from the others.

Hi
I sell electronics that are added to the RX 18 to give you Tamiya IR capability as well as allow you to add the Benedini sound module. That is what you are hearing in this video

Other electronics besides what I sell are also available. I make the pitch on my website why I think the stuff I sell is the most cost effective in the long run. Other opinions may vary

I plan on buying this kit from Ludwig in a week or so when I refill the old tank fund and your system appeals to me as I already have a RX18 board and lower HL Tiger hull I will be using for this....

I believe that was Porsche's original Tiger design that lost out, if so, wasn't it Maybach equipped like every other Tiger?

Nope, it was this:

So YHR, did you ever determine if you have a sound file for this?

Sorry for some reason the replies to this thread escaped my attention. If you can tell me what it had for an engine I could work on building what you want. I will do some quich research on the net, but if you have something on it let me know.
Cheers

Looks like they had intended to run Maybachs. Meduim version was a 6 cyclinder and the Heavy (36) was a 12 cylinder. Now I will have to check what surving tanks may have run the same powerplants and see if there is any audio of it anywhere.

RE: Panther G with new sound set
It looks like this ran the same basic engine as the PZIV with a lower HP output.
I doubt there are any files of the original engine. The best I could do would be to give you a PZIV soundfile, and reduce the revs with a minor varitation of pitch to establish it as "different" I 'll add some Battle armor "magic" to enhance the sound.
It is the weekend, maybe I can find some time to do up a file and load it in my test mule. So you will get to see what a LEO 2 would sound like with this engine<grin>
I owe the forum the Flak guns of the Gepard still, so maybe I can get both up for viewing this weekend.
