Got the blank cover made for the night vision mount.
I decided I will also do the 90mm gun version, it will have most of the jungle specific FV101 pieces like raised covers that can be glued over the engine deck, and wire mesh will come with that add-on. I will not be doing the machine gun mount on top of the turret though.
Where do you think I should put the IR in the 90mm version? the gun mount only has a machine gun port, nothin else.

Trying to avoid making the different style upper hull on the jungle version 90mm one. All the images I find are this style of engine cover hatches: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lt-Hs8PaxjY/maxresdefault.jpg
I can only find a single image of the 90mm gun with the other style of engine covers: http://www.mainbattletanks.czweb.org/Tanky/scorp90.jpg
Would you all be fine with me not making that unique engine deck?
Attached it another image, I made the 2 styles of mudflaps.

Hi Moo
I'm not in the market for the 90mm, just the 76mm version, so will leave that answer for others.
Did you sort out the placement of the IR?
Checked my books & found a couple of pics of Simfire on Scorpion, though missing the usual guard. And Chieftain with the same system, plus guard.
Better pics of Simfire fitted to Centurion

The IR on the 76mm version is inside that hole right next to the machine gun, its set 10mm back inside. The scale one has some kind of plug in that hole, not sure what its for, but it is the best location for the IR.
Good view of the real one here: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...Light_Tank.jpg
On the 90mm version I ended up making the blank night vision panel re-moveable and under is hidden the IR, so for IR battle you just remove it, its a nice press-fit.

Alright I lied... I did end up doing the unique deck for the 90mm version... The hatches are a sandwich of multiple printed parts and wire mesh will be put in between them. This same deck is also used on some FV107's but shorter height covers, I will be doing that too!
Can someone say overboard much?

This is the full option FV107... I need to sort out exactly how I will organize and sell all these parts in kits. Within the next couple days I will have final prices and pictures of whats all in what.
Fancy new engine deck and modern exhaust on the side of the FV107. Can't wait to print all this stuff out now.

I now have all the CAD work done, and I'm printing out 2 more tanks to make sure all the parts are 100% ready to go. Thinking up the best way to sell the items, needing some input on this. Currently I have all the items split up into a total of 12 products. It is kind of like a build your own tank checkout with this, however some variations of the tanks require 2 or more storage box products. Is that a good way to sell it? The other way would be me just selling 3 different tanks as a whole but it would not provide the best customization options, as so many of the real Scorpion's have their parts mixed and matched. Like the FV107 has used both Deck A and B (in the attached image).
With the way its setup right now to build the 3 different tank styles cost would be as follows:
Bare bones Scorpion with just a 76mm gun - $465
Scorpion in my images, the green tank - $495
FV107 - $553
Scorpion with 90mm gun with all the special jungle parts - $540
(All those prices are mixing and matching the 12 products I currently have split up in the attach image)
What do you all think about it?
Also attached is images of the Scorpion next to a old Tamiya King Tiger tank for scale reference, so tiny!

Gesh... that thing is beautiful and I like what I see!
I should buy me a printer instead of that Camaro project.

I will not be selling the STL files for this, so you won't be able to print your own sadly! The snow blowers I sold, people started to pass the files around... there is no way to protect them at all, it really sucks.
Printing out all the new parts, new pics coming within a day or two.

I won't be doing the Sabre, the FV107 is basically the exact same thing, same gun, same everything except the turret is cast instead of plates. It was also put onto the Scorpion hull from some other vehicle I think. FV107 is close enough lol.

I attached a bunch of images of the different engine panel for the FV107. It will come with the wire mesh, I think I will be using a finer mesh sheet though, I have 2 more sizes on the way in the mail. I spray painted it to show you a really good close up of just what your in for if you order a kit from me. The 3d printed parts have lots of small imperfections, many can easily be fixed in just a couple seconds of sand paper. I painted the raw printed part in the images. Those lines near the edge of the part are made when the nozzle changes directions, I'm slightly over-extruding the plastic to avoid gaps. Easier to sand then fill. Although even still sometimes some areas could need filling, depending on how much it bothers you. I personally don't do much on my tanks, once you get a nice wash and some weathering on the tank its not very noticeable at all. My green tank has the same amount of imperfections going on but you can't see it unless your right up close. I wanted to explain exactly how the kits will look when you get them!
Last image is after a little sanding and re-paint, since its normal ABS, its really easy to do.

Hi Moo
Pricing sounds ok. Figuring out the options looks a little tricky though?
Sabre = Scorpion hull & Fox turret, with a riser between hull & turret - the Fox armoured car hull was relatively deep, the turret shallow.
Agree you should hang on to the files.
Size wise, it's a wearable tank, you climb in & button up

I've been working like crazy all week on the tank, I re-printed every piece probably 10 times to perfect all the tolerances and I ended up re-tuning all my printers. The prints look so good right now!
I worked on my website and I'm opening it up for sale now! However the instruction manual is still under development. Any orders placed will be shipped without instructions. The instructions will be emailed to you once finished so you can order ahead of time if you want to. Manual expected by the beginning of April. (Helpful for international shipping time, manual should be done by the time you get your order in the mail.)
Check out the extensive page of all the options for this tank on my website here: http://spykerworkshop.webs.com/scorpion-tank
You can place an order for a tank, I've already got a stock pile of parts going! The prices went up a little from what I said before, printing times were higher then the software was estimating.

I've been working on building myself 2 more tanks to work out any last errors in the kits, I'm making a FV107 and 90mm FV101, will post more pics as I get them built. I got a couple orders already, printers running many many hours now everything going great sofar! I still have not started the manual but thats another reason I'm building myself 2 more, to see the best way to actually assemble each step. Going to be making a manual draft as I go. I have 3 12x12x12" printers running to print out any orders!
Anyone else planning to order a kit soon, or waiting on the manual? I will be releasing the full manual online once its finished also so anyone can view it. I ordered a ton of supplies for future kits.

I will order at least 1, but later in the year - I've just moved back into my house after 11 years away nearly, and have a lot of refurbishment work to fund, so money is a little tight for the next few months...
(both my cars need their annual service in the next 60 days as well !).
So many nice things to buy, so little money...

dragon245 - I worked on making the other view ports last couple days and they came out well! I made the special view ports for the 30mm and 90mm versions. New updated pics on my store: http://spykerworkshop.webs.com/scorpion-tank
