Default Tri Pact speed Controller

Hi Guys, I am in the process of putting together a Tri Pact speed controller for a Hailiang 1:12 M1A2 conversion, would anyone know why there are 8 diodes shown on the wiring diagram on rctankcombat.com for the tri pact when there are 9 listed as components? Would the extra one be on the + wire of the battery to stop reverse flow and pulse? This is a complete guess on my part! I guess I am I missing something? Any advice on the tri pact would be gratfully received as I am very new to this!
