Default Where do you use it?

Where do people on here use there tank? and are they used on a regular basis or are the more static models that are modified etc but rarely used in anger?

It seems when I do a search for RC tanks in the UK most results are for the larger 1:6 scale are these the more popular scale to use on a regular basis?

Do any of the clubs etc in the UK use 1:16 scale tanks?
There are only so many times you can go round the garden even if you do add obstacles etc. and I dont really want to dig the garden up to create a proving ground!

In short all over the yard, run it everday..been running the Bulldog since August last year. Wore out a bunch of stuff on it, never burned anything up in it. Got more hours than I can count on it. Havent modeled it, its as is from the factory, exept for replacing the worn out stuff. No shelf queen here. Have those small wireless camaras, got one mounted on the tank, I can set in the house and drive it around looking at a T.V. monitor. As far as used in anger, Ive angered a few stray cats with it. Oh and I have a big yard so its hard to run out of places to go, and if I do I have a portable 7 inch lcd screen to take on road trips in the woods. Go on, dig up that garden! It"ll be fun.

Well mate i have used my bulldog and treated it like a real tank i have taken it through water up to its shell through very deep mud sand rocks and i eventually broke it in 2 inch deep water.LOL

Ive broken the exhaust pipe that goes to the little exhaust on the dog ive stuffed the smoke system i nearly broke its speaker with the water runs but that just dried out and i also wore out its back idler.

So all i can say is have spare circut boards and have fun.

And ive also got a panther i have mainly just taken it rock driving and through shallow water and its still running fine.

Kind regards pantigerman.

I think a great deal of the HL owners are waiting with great anticipation for the forthcoming Tamiya compatible battle systems to become available. And with that you'll begin to see them on the 'battlefields'. Such as those types seen [link=http://www.fragarmor.org/Battlefield%202005%20(2).htm]here[/link].

Otherwise I think the great majority of 1/16 tank owners, regardless of brand, operate them as much as they modify them. I try to drive mine outside almost exclusively, preferably on packed to semi-packed soil, in a somewhat scale-like environment. I rather enjoy getting it dirty/dusty as it indicates what realistic weathering should look like. I don't try to drive it like a monster truck or participate in 'rock crawling'.

I also fire the 6mm gun in anger as much as humanly possible...
Might just have to invest in a small onboard 'spy camera' and laser pointer in order to be able to inflict hits on other enemy HL tanks.

I live in an apartment in Los Angeles, with nothing but concrete around.. so I have to drive to the park to drive my Bulldog around. I probably go once a month. A few parts have broken off while driving through some brush, like the tow hooks for example... sucks..
