Default xion puma

Does anyone know if the xion 1/16th puma will be designed for RC, or is it to be just a static model?

Wow, that is nice! That's the first I've heard of it. Who's selling it and how much?

Hope it's not some die-cast model that can't be R/C'd.

I vaguely remember going the website a few months ago. They look great, but seem kind of exspensive.

I know the 222/223s can be RC'd (they've been on the tankzone site for while, seem to be an andrew design/Xion joint thing). Just wondered if this latest one was similar. Maybe we'll find out more when the Toy Fair has run its course.

Had The site translated thru Babelfish:

They both cost 329.90 Euro and they are R/C ready die cast metal construction.

I bought the SDKFZ 222 and it is definitely set up for R/C. The insturctions show a recommended layout for the electronics and it has mounts for the battery pack (7.2 volt) and steering servo. I've completed the chassis but have put it on the backburner for now untill i have my PIII completed. I plan on building both DAK. The chassis is all metal and the 4 wheel steering works good. There is some slop on the axels so the wheels are wobbly but i plan on going back and shimming all loose components. (I've test fitted and built it) The metal parts did require some filing so that the parts fit but nothing major. The resin parts are well detailed but i have come across some with bubbles and slight warpage. I hope to have it completed by April with 4 channel operation. I'll probably will get the Puma just for the cool factor.

Hi
To what degree can the axles rock about their centres (in a vertical sense)?

I had the chance to look over our CO's 223 up close and what Nick is talking about is true and it is very capable of being R/C'd with some alterations. I have an eye on one in the distant future BUT I like the Puma much better.

Now they need to come out with an M8 too.

Nick, I have been watching the 222 also, its my second fav armored car, the Puma being the first. Last I looked it was on backorder for the 222, where did you get it and how much was it and shipping?

ACG, I bought it from Back Yard Armor last year. It was around $300 U.S.D. with shipping. There was a 6 weeks delay after I paid for it before I received it. I was told it was because the manufacturer was making an improvement to the gearbox. The kit did come with an addendum for the gearbox and included some small plastic washer/shims for the gearbox. BTW, if anyone is planning on building one of these look into the Toadmans SDKFZ 222 picture CD. It has hundreds of high quality pictures for reference. (I hope i don't get in trouble for that plug.) It would be nice if they decided to do an M8 but allied vehicles just don't seem to be as popular as axis vehicles. Whatever happened to the Trumpeter M16 halftrack for instance?

edit. 8 wheel drive, 8 wheel steer, RC capable, kit suggested as 600 euro.

I really want one, but I won't pay 900$ Cad for it. Hopefully it will sell for less in US and Canada.

It seems to have disappeared. I had an email contact with someone at Trumpeter but since it never showed as they promised, they will not respond anymore.

Man, at close to $900 USD I might just have to pass on this one. Lets hope the suggested retail is as inflated as the Tamiya kits and they sell at half the cost. I'm still hoping that Trumpeter does release the m16 but after seeing it anounced in 2006 and not seeing hardly any mention of it in 2007 I kind of wonder how serious they are to release it.

Check the site....the cutaway of the 234 shows the mechanics and the ad states 8 wheel drive and reccomends the motors that can be used. One bad thing is the price[X(] 600-700 Euros. Too steep for my bank account, regardless of how good it is.[&o]

Any news about this peice? I would love to read a decent rewiev of the Puma and see a few pictures. Sure sounds like a fantastic peice of technology! I would love to have one of 'em to play with!

But I have thought about it, does it have scale speed? And is it combatible with any IT battle system? I suspect not, but maybe maybe it could be converted to use either ElMod or HL electronics? I hope someone knows, I'm eager to know the truth! haha.
Ok, time to catch some Z's to much beer in my head. Thank's all![8D]
