TruckCrazy, the way that the dual clutch gearbox is normally set up; both electric motors drive a single common gear (and that gear mounts on the centerline between & just below the motors). That one gear drive BOTH of the clutch gears, and you use the clutches to steer. Tamiya made a provision for you to use each motor to drive an individual track, (and thereby not need to use the clutches), by using an optional pair of gears - one on the outside of each motor. If you look at the picture you posted, you're pointing to the outside gear for the left motor. Your picture shows that you're missing the gear on the right motor, and the one in the center that is used with the clutches. If you look at the picture Jimmy posted, you can see the common gear for the two motors mounted in the center, (it's hard to see, though).

If the guy you bought the Sherman from sent you another gear or two as parts; you may have either the other outside gear, or the center gear that replaces the two outside gears. All of them use the same shaft that passes through the framework.

I do not have the outside gears, (never been able to find them yet), but I think I have the center gear that the clutches work with, if you find that you need it. -Mike

Well, what was the solution, don't leave us all hanging. There aren't many of these oldies but goodies around anymore and it is interesting to see what can be done with them.

ok well need some help been searching the net to see if someone tryed adding bearings to the older sherman but cant find anything, was wondering if there was a way, was thinking maybe if the axles pressed into the suspension arms will fit the bearinga i have coming and if i can use the old caps to do as they served stock by keeping the wheel on, kinda scratching my head any help would be great just trying to save money so i dont have to buy the newer arms and wheels
