RE: motor help
Sorry, force of habit.....
Lots of choices in the larger range of engines, as well.
I really liked the OS .28XZ when I had it.
It was a fuel hog in my hands, but it had the POWER.......

RE: motor help
LRP is a great all-round, safe choice. The LRP is basically just a bigger Mach 427. Characteristics are very similar - easy to break in and tune - just more torque(and unfortunately, more fuel consumption..) The Losi 454 is the same thing btw - and can prob be had cheap on e-bay. It's the stock engine on the Losi 8T 2.0 RTR.

My Feedback: (1)
RE: motor help
Rossi .28 > OS .28XZ > Jammin JPX .28 (Picco .28) > LRP .28 > Losi 454 > Axial .28 RR
is the general concensus. Hope this helps. I run the Jammin JPX .28 (Exact same as Picco .28 but with a turbo head red in color). Amazing engine. Best bang per buck. 2nd choice would be the LRP. I love the OS .28 but it's pretty pricey.

RE: motor help
Skip the Axial RR. I had it, it was a total PIA for the first gallon and a half, then ran actually quite well for five gallons or so in my Savage, then I sold it.. I think the engine had potential, but it's hit and miss.
The LRP Spec 3 is pretty much a spot-on, no worries hit. More reliable, AND more powerful than the Axial..
Trust me..

RE: motor help
if you buy a piston & sleeve you will have spent more on a used engine w/old breaeings than the price of a new one,see where I'm going with this [sm=wink_smile.gif]

RE: motor help
Really, makes no sense to buy a used LRP for 100 bucks. Get a new Losi 454 on e-bay or LRP from wherever for 150 shipped....
Unless you really, REALLY know the seller, and you're talking less than a gallon...
