SPAD with brushed motor? Need HELP!
Iam looking to be pointed in the right direction to build something with preferably a single or twin 540 size brushed motor.
Open for suggestions as Iam wanting to build something from some spare parts Ihave laying around.
Foam, Plastic, Coro ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ihave never built or flown a plane before.
Thanks

RE: SPAD with brushed motor? Need HELP!
Ifound the site spad to the bone so are you saying built to scale I could build the spadstick &it would run well??
Couldn't I scale down one of the trainers &make it work??
Iam just not sure what size to compare the 540 brushed motor too.
I have a few Icould use a 27 turn &a 21 turn.
Not even sure what prop to start with.

RE: SPAD with brushed motor? Need HELP!
Appreciate the link and seems Ihave a lot of reading to do.
I have been trying to read up on as much as I can.
Ihave been talking with a few other people & have been notified that the 540 or 550 motors are putting out about .049 compared to a nitro motor but someone I was talking with said he had converted a .20 plane to a brushed setup.
Iam thinking of building a rudder rail might be a good first plane to build &possibly could use the brushed motor.
If not I can always get a brushless to fit the bill.....
What do you think?

Really though brushless setups are so cheap now adays seems I would probably be wasting my time with the brushed motor.
Seams to build an ssr this motor would be the way to go:

So if Iwanted to build a say a spadet or a debonair this engine should work Iwould think?

The Debonaire is probably the best trainer from the SPAD collection. Plans on the spadtothebone.com site.
A brushless motor in the 48-50 mm size range should work. Just build it light.
