PQHOR and .25FX
I'm going to be building a PQHOR and want to get some feedback for engine selection.
I have a .25FX coming out of a PBF. It can hover the PBF. Will this engine be enough to hover the PQHOR?
I have an Irvine .53 as another alternative but think that may be too big? Any thoughts?

I have one with a 25fx. Will climb slowly vertically and hovers fine but keep it as light as you can. I think the weight of the profile fuse would put it over the limit. Mine is 32 in span but i think 30 in would fly better at a little lighter weight. Lifts of in 10 to 15 ft with no wind.

25 PQHOR
Mine has a Thunder Tiger 25 with a mouse can muffler and it hovers great at 3/4 throtle on a 9x4 master airscrew.
Cant seem to kill the thing. Flat spun the thing on purpose 3 times all the way to the ground , could not stop laughing in time to pull out, no damage but great fun and impressive. Falls like a 3 hole brick when dead stick

Thanks John, I read the thread where you put a .75 on your PQHOR and the pics tell the whole story. I'm always overpowered. I like it that way! But I also saw the video that you posted for Jason ( CHOICE!) and read that he was using an OS.46 and I reall like the way his flies.
Now, I've got an MVVS.77 and an OS.46 FX. I plan on building several PQHORS, but I want to start off w/ a good set-up for my first one. Which engine should I use first?
Oh, also, have you built a SPA3D? Do you think it flies better than the PQHOR?

I flew my Spa3d for the first time today. Same plane and engine as the one in my video, just a new wing. I love the way it flys. I did several toilet bowl flat spin landings. It still t-rolls and hovers/harriers the same as the old one. Spins and snaps are also much better.

haha, I have had the mustand since RCU started up. And I will go back to it eventually, love my race car!!
But I am having so much fun with the sukhoi I couldnt help it, that pic was perfect!!
I dont have any coro in it, but I have a piece of plastic holding the whip antennae in it, does that count?
Here, check out this thread for some sweet pics and a vid:

I will probably go to one high torque servo in the channel for the ailerons. I saw one at the last fun fly I went to and it had a much better roll rate than mine. He also had much more authority with it in rolling harriers. He was doing slow rolling harriers on the deck. It was awesome. I think putting the servos in the wing causes the wing to flex under load and kind of works against itself giving a poor roll rate. We'll see anyway and I'll post my results sometime in the next week or two. I'm in the middle of packing for a move. I moved my whole hobby room today (so sad). Got get settled a little before I can go flying again.
