SAAB JA37 Viggen
Hello! My name is Magnus, and I live in Sweden (Europe) I am building the swedish Fighter JA37 Viggen in Scale 1:12, and I will present the building on this forum. The producer of the model is the Swedish company MBS models. If you have any question regarding the building of the model, I will gladely answer them. The base of this model is made with balsa, later on it will be covered with plastic and glassfibre. She will be equipped with a 90mm EDF. Hope you will enjoy the pics.

Thanks flyngfrong. Themanual for this model includes 106 pages, no drawings only text, that will help you in your building. The description in the manualis very pedagogik, andit will lead you through the building sequences. Whats important is to get the measures right from the beginning. This is my first building, and I must say that I haveenjoyed itvery much. The SAAB J37 was developed under the 60th. We used theJ37 in our airforce until2005, when we changed it into the SAABJ39 Gripen.TheJ37 was the beast and theJ39 is the beauty.

RE: SAAB JA37 Viggen
I have started to put the 1,5mm balsa clothes on the plane, and i must say that this wasnt as easy as I just thought, but now it starts to work out just fine. A simple way to make the balsa sheets easier to work with is to spray window cleaner on one side of the balsa sheet. Also use sharp knives when you cut thebalsa sheetand good buildingneedleswhen you putthe balsasheet on to the balsa frame. Dont know if myenglish is understandible, butI hopethat the pics are. One more thing. If you have never built anything like this, I can asure you that it is real work of therapy for the mind.
As you can see in one of the pics, there is a little mountain with balsa that didnt fit the first time to the place where it was suppose to sit. In Swedish we call that "spill", the translation could be "**** happens". Anyway thoose balsa pieces is no more, because they were used for anew part on the Mighty Vigg. Also putting ina pics of my beloved 1970Dodge charger, called the Sublimer.
