Sikorsky S-39 Build
Has anyone had any experance with the Sikorsky S-39. The plans came from RCM plan service. The artical was in the 8/91 issue and was designed by Bob Rich. Any info would be helpful being all that came with the plans where several type written pages of instructions and not a copy of the orignal articale.

RE: Sikorsky S-39 Build
I built a Martin China Clipper out of blue foam and the only thing I did was to Zerox several frame ststions along the hull to get the foam shape right.
It flies perfect on 4--400's.
ALL high wing planes are easy to CG and fly.
Make sure the first or only step is behind the CG and make sure the step edges are SHARP.
You want it to cause turbulance as the speed builds up.

That's a drawing for someone's flight sim. There are a few pictures on the web - mostly of the giraffe colored one that was at Oshkosh.
With that cub wing, it flies great, but it is not too fond of choppy water. When yoiu get to that part, I'd recommend putting the aileron servo hatches on the TOP of the wing to keep them dry......

Finished and flown my 29. It wants to climb a lot. I built it right off the plans. have you had the same problem? Going to give the engine some down thrust and add a littlelead to the front. It would be a major project to take it apart to adjust the incidence, Have any ideas?

Sikorsky S39 from Uncle Willies Plans
[QUOTE=Avaiojet;11537448]I built one back in 91 and still have it. I striped it done for a redo. One day I'll get around to it.

Hello Charles,
I came across plans from Uncle Willies for a 76” WS model that I would like to build. It sounds like you have some experience building one of these / any tips or photos you could share?
