That's better!

Right, eventually here we go...
I've just got hold of a secondhand Avenger hull, totally bare except for the stuffing tube. My question is what height does the tube/prop need to be in relation to the bottom of the hull? At the moment it is around half an inch (possibly a bit more) above the bottom of the two sides of the hull. Compared with my vees this seems as if the prop will be too high out of the water..... I've no idea how the boat ran with it's previous owner. I've no problem with vees, but this is my first Cat.

Which would be the best engine to put in it, I've a Zenoah 260 and a CMB 90 both sat here and I don't know which one to use. The 260 obviously has all the glorious benefits of a gas engine but the CMB has over 6hp and screams. Which is more beneficial to a cat, torque or revs?

Cheers,
Kev.

i would think that the torque would be more benificial, it would allow you to turn a larger prop and should provide mor thrust... one question tho, whats the weight difference between these 2 engines, cause as you know, more weight can cost you some speed due to the increased drag....
