Go here - Scroll down to self-adhesive rub rail.

http://www.whobbies.com/index1.html

I bought some for my scratch built boat - It does look good and is quite tough too.

Other than this I have not seen anything else.

Check around at the auto parts stores, they use it for door edge trim.

That rub rail won't work so well on a ProBoat ShockWave. Were the hull is joined, there is a notch that sticks out a 1/4", and that rub rail can't be applied over on on that, so you would hit both the boat and the rub rail. BEST ADVICE=DON'T HIT THINGS EVEN THOUGH IT'S FUN

i think he allready has the hull so a pretty stupid answer there mate.if i were him id just buy some rubber strips as suggested and stick it on there.you could even use an old rubber matt and cut it into strips and layer it up and glue it up front .how about an old kids bike tyre cut a piece off and try that .

The bumper is'nt needed for cracking; it's needed for ramming[sm=punching.gif]

Nice to see someone is digging through my old threads. Keep looking and your find my cracking issues, among all the others.

How about little tires or rubber gunwale rub rails used on model tug boats www.harbormodels.com Or just get old tires from someones r/c car or truck, cut them in pieces and glue on,and bang away. Will still probably crack the hull, but won't hurt the paint. And if someones boat stalled in the water you can be a retrieval boat.Push em in.
