46 v to small

46 v to small
hi was wondering if any one could tell me if a 46 inch v is to small for counter rotating props and if not where could i get all the hard ware for it,

Well what are you planning on running for an engine(s)...?
You could easly fit 2 eletric or nitro, but 2 gas will be a really... really tight fit. and a gear box and engine to power the dual props of a drive box would probably be to heavy.
But to really give an answer we would need to know specs and goals. If you are going gas stick with a single. I wanted to go dual on my 60" apache but after some good advice, I'm going with a single stern drive and dual qd 25's inline.

What boat do you have in mind? I think its possible. Might not be the fastest on the water, but it is do-able. 
Keep in mind that this would be a 'just for kick's' boat, & not real practicle. You know, something to occupy the time & keep an idle mind from waist. LOL
On a boat such as your normal 46" V', I'd suggest one thats designed for the aircooled gas engines as they carry the extra weight of the heavier engine & clutch better. Think about it.... Smaller watercooled gas engine & no clutch has saved some weight right there. Now include the gear box & extra drive.....Ok, I seen a little now as I'm moving along with it, such as the extra drive on the stern & balance issues. But it should not be that bad unless you planned on putting two #6 drives on the stern. Keep the gear box close to the CG, move the engine forward and it might just work.
Still not that bad & sounds fun. Though as I said earlier, not practicle for such a small boat.
Ps, if the doctor told you some bad news would you:
A) accept it,
B) get more opinions
or
C) say the heck with it and do your own thing
