The AC Blast Cat is probably the best for rough water as that's what it was made for. It's not that it's not good in calmer conditions but the rough stuff is where it shines. If it gets used in race conditions, usually by the time that the clock hits zero the water is starting to get rough anyway, especially in traffic.

As Ron mentioned - blast cat is pretty good in the Rough from what I have seen and heard. I have run most of the others and find they are better suited to calmer conditions. There really is no such thing as a great rough calm water cat. It is like wanting a cross between a Ferrari and a hummer I guess.

If your looking at such conditions regularly then you may want to try a Deep Vee which will handle rough better and calm quite well.

If your looking at jumping waves you should focus on less speed, more balance, plenty of floatation, a water tight radio box, and a good retrieval method. But you will have plenty of fun too !!!

I run on a pond that is calm all the time but I sometimes take it to the lake that has lots of Full Size boat trafic.

Which lake do you take it to, if you don't mind me asking "PRIVATE"?
