aero marine 50 in apache
I have two questions I have seen other apache hulls on here with no lip around the hull were the hull joins the deck. Can you grind the lip off to make it look better or will it jepordize the strenght of the bond between the hull and the deck
I am painting it to look like my real boat and I am having vinyl decals made to put on the sides can you clearcoat over them or do you have to scuff them up first and then apply the clear, I am using a laquer paint and clear cote

Sweet boat, I love the Baja's ride which is extra comfortable without the steps in the hull. There are too little paint colors in that scheme for your rc boat but that's just me.

You can grind the overhang smooth if you'd like. You should lay a strip of fiberglass tape along the edge of the seam on the inside. It also depends on the hull. If the deck has too much overhang, it may not be possible to do.

That is a sweet looking boat. That paint job looks like a cigarette paint scheme.
I was wondering if those turn fins actually work well like that I was debating about not putting one on my boat, I am building it just for fun, I never had one on my last boat but it also was not a surface drive it had a steerable outdrive on it and turned good in both directions. Is that a 50 inc apache hull.

i removed the lip on my mono and it looks a thousand times better. its a bit of work but its worth it. the mistake i made was not reinforcing seam with strip of glass and i had one side separate which i repaired only to have the other side fail shortly after. i should have done them both at the same time!
