i am currently building a thunderbolt and was wondering how far forward of the back of the boat should the motor be mounted? I currently have it mounted 16 1/2" from the extreme back of the boat to the center of the spark plug. i just really hope that its ok where it is located.

I built one of those a while back. I never measured where the engine ended up. You need to get the sparkplug as far forewards as possible. I'm talking right into the scoop.[X(] Thats what Raj told me, and it worked out ok!

LOL That boat is Many colors! I put it together for my buddy Dave, who painted it all himself! He is now returning the favor buy painting my new G-Force Rigger! I got more running pics, but they are "bitmap pics" and this site won't let me upload em. Sorry, Brian

OH YEA![X(] Shockerman, before you get much farther with your build you otta move the engine forewards like the pic. These hulls are light in the front, so you need more weight up there. Otherwise your probably gonna have blow over issues![:@] Brian
Thanks Kevin!
Thanks Kevin!

It's Pearized Lime Green waterbased paint. All the colors are pealized paint, then sealed with automotive clearcoat. If you want the actual brand name of the paint, I could do some digging. Brian

Posts were lost again it seems.
I really like my Thunderbolt. Mine's QDHT powered. I agree move the motor as far forward as possible, I had to add weight. At 31/32% it blew over a couple times. At 33% it runs sweet.
Settings are level shaft center 5/8" above bottom of boat and then knocked 2 degrees down from there.
So far 62mph with an X470.
