My Sikk 27 came with a kill switch. I have always used the radio/throttle trim to kill the engine before and I am debating on whether or not to use this one. If I do I will have to devise some way to secure it. If I leave it dangling or it's gonna drive me nuts.
Do you feel it's necessary? What do you guy's do?

there are many items on the market, and alot of ways to use a 3rd chnl to shut down your motors too, its not often than you d want to shut it down. but if your running a 400 or 500 dollar motor, and your out running and hear somethings not right, you can kill the motor with the radio. ofcourse this dont work if you lose signal. there is on item available in the surface gasser world, called a failsave. its sole purpose is to shut down the motor if you loose signal. not sure if its available with a time delay before shutdown, but its electronic, so it should be able to be programmed. and is already waterproof i believe.

Ok you've convinced me. So, it's useless unless the boat is in front of you. I just spent 45 mins trying to think up and make some kind of bracket to hold this thing. Then cut it too short[:@]
One of the lead wires is hard wired to the engine. I guess you just snip that one off?

If you still want to have a kill locally you could do what the old lawn mowers did and mount a piece of metal to the head that hovered over the sparkplug. Then you just make it contact the plug and it's killed.
