I seen some info on this very subject just a few days ago. I would have to say it was on the internet somewhere, and I know it doesnt help to not have the direct link. But, I remember that the cylinder was turned down in a lathe. The cylinder was stationed in the lathe by a peice of turned down wood that was fitted to the inside of the cylinder. Then a cooling sleeve was machined to fit over the cylinder for water cooling. Sorry if this info didnt help but it was worth mentioning. I feel its just easier buying a engine made to run in a boat. I looked up what you tould me to shearch for it did work,it came up with modlepowerboats.com. but I have some questions when I think of watercooling I think of water going though a tude coiled around an engine (like water cooling an electric motor)but to me it lookes like it water fills up the water jaket inside and surunds the top part of the engine with water and comes out the hole at the top. please correct me if i'm wrong.Dont get mad at me i'v never had a gas powered rc boat only electric, but that was 2 or 3 years ago.

I am pretty sure your right, could be wrong if am somebody could prove it[:-]. The outer fins are shaved down tighter to the head but only so far down so you can use a bottom fin to attach a tube with just a hairs breath spacing from the OD of the now shave fins cap it off on top (dont forget a spot for the plug!) an add water fittings to allow the water to circulate through the chamber youve made sucking out some heat an coming out at a designated spot. Its pretty simple in theory but for a novice fabricator could be daunting
hope this helps
