MrFreeze and painman are your 257 carbs modded, I have a feeling that makes a difference (mine is modded). Also make sure you guys cut your rudders, all of these rudders come super long!

Mine is modded, I know I can get more out of it by shotening the pipe and playin with some props. The other thing I'm not happy with is the sponsons they are dead flat, they realy need to be tappered to help it track better at high speed.

Well mine tracks very well, but it does slide a bit on the corners "at speed". That's why I haven't cut the rudder too too much, I did see it do some 360's when I was messing around(my fault). For this boat maybe a skeg strut is a good idea. I also noticed that this boat does not handle in straightaways like the sprint does, this boats picks up more air underneath, I have seen it fly over twice already, I am sure this can be a very scary boat with a modified engine at 60+mph. The sprint has not blown over yet, maybe that's why it's hitting 65mph "only" becuase it is still a little wet (it's harder to get the sprint completly LOOSE). a REMINDER, yesterday when the Falcon was doing 56's - low 57's. The wind was blowing, like 13-15 mph winds. notice the picture, it was a little rough (this usually helps with speed little). But all of these flaws are very predictable and the boat lets you know beforehand. And anyways I have seen all of these behaviors in other cats too, like the seaducer cat (i have seen it slide, very bad), the avenger pro (likes to fly off), etc. In conclusion, I believe, I might have just built one of my favorite boats of all time (to date.... HAHAHAHAHA).

Sorry, eengler I belive i will just hang on to the prop, add to my collection in my prop box. I ran today w/o cowl, water was slick as glass and put the 105* header in boat and it didn't make that much difference. Only picked up a couple mph, not sure it was enough to cut cowl for. May have picked up a little with cowl on because of better air flow, not sure.
eengler how much of the tips were removed on your 2716/2, I might have taken to much blade; still havn,t tryed to add more cup. it will be the only way to catch the 6717.

Paul, I know you run the HP2 oil in your boats, I have a question. Do you ever get any of the green like oil gas mix in front of your carb? It is the oil gas mix, where the oil hasn't got burned. Pulled plug and motor not running rich, good color. Seems this is the worst I have seen. Never had this with any of the other oils I have ran. I had moved the pipe up, might be building to much back preasure, so I backed it back out, will see what happens. Also was building up in the pipe as well, had to pull pipe and clean out with simple green, where it had built up. Pain in the -
Any idea's? Might go back to something else. or could this be the AV fuel? Back to 87 pump or camp fuel. Only using 8oz to gal. fuel.
Thanks

No experience running the AV fuel. So not sure what to expect from that.
When you say in front of the carb not sure what you mean. Do you mean excess (unburned) fuel in the boat? If you have residue in the boat and your running a hotpipe it can mean 1 of 2 things according to Todd at QD. Engine is too rich or running too much prop. My 2 cents.

I'll take a picture of the 2716 and post it. I also run hp2, 9-10 ounces per gallon, 87 octane. I haven't had a problem yet. My sprint is still leaving residue from the pipe, I have a feeling it is still rich.

Here are the pics of how it was running 56 on saturday. Pic of the prop, depth of the strut "a little (1/8 inch) lower than the sponsons", area where the engine is set and pipe lenght.

Eengler, I appreciate you posting up the pictures, I may have taken a little more off of the tips, but not much. I do have more cup now that I added more this afternoon. Not sure what to expect, was wanting to test today but the wife put me to work at the house, cleaning my shop. It was a mess, couldn't hardly turn around for boat stuff every where, flowing from shop into garage. I will be out of town so want get to test till later in the week. Does your boat bounce before it get up to speed? might have to go deeper with strut. last outing I was level with sponsons.
Thanks again;

nope, I believe bouncing usually happens when you have a positive angle on the strut. The first day out to the lake, I had a positive angle and it would bounce. There are local club races this next sunday, I am not sure about putting this falcon up to the task. I might give it a shot. I would be racing against the modded ones.... [

Have you tried raising the strut so its abvove the sponsons? im sure wally does that on his sprintcat you may want to try that.From what ive seen most seem to run cats with the prop hub above the sponson bottoms by arround 1/8-1/4".

For some reason and I know I am not the only one, raising the strut seems to slow this boat down. At least it does with my set up and motor.

I supose it depends on how high i know a lot of the guys running fast cats set the strut above not bellow the sponsons ,this cat is basicly a copy of the sprintcat i believe but with diff tunnel width,probably why its very flighty.

I know that most people run above the sponsons, just like i use to race the 0.21 tunnels, but for the falcon i believe that at 56-57 with a stocker.... It is "just perfect". I will try a little higher on the sprint and lean him out and I also ordered the 2 and 5/8 coupler for the hotpipe.

Mine, was faster with the strut up just a little above the sponsons, maybe a 1/4" not much and ran neutral position. I have gone up and down testing with different props still can't seem to find the sweet spot. I added a little more cup to my 2716 waiting to see if I ruined a good prop. O' well never know till you try. I have a strut with a skeg, might be why it likes being a little higher, not sure.
Where are you guy's getting your IV bags with good service.
Thanks Randy

I just got 3 Baxter bags from this guy: http://connorsrcpitstop.com/default.aspx . He takes PayPal or Postal Money Oders and had a deal going on, $13.00 each shipped for 500 ml bags with Tygon line, a T fitting and fuel dot. Quick shipping as I got mine from Hollywood, FL in 3 days.

Thanks Guys I will need to get me some ordered up, as mine have got hard as a rock. I belive that when they get this hard it has to be hard for the fuel to be pulled from the bags.
Thanks Again;

Yep; I have always left fuel in the bags and they have still hardened, may be the brand of bags, but I thought they where the Baxter bags.
I ordered 5 from the place Ron ordered his, should be here soon, I hope.
How long do the bags usually last? I have had these maybe a month or two.
Thanks guy's
