well I do 39.3 to 40mph with a CMB LS in my Sprint Cat (30inches) so, I would think
that the RS7 Valvola should be able to put the boat pass the 40 mark if not better.

I also have one with a cmb ls .21. I can get 42/43 on the radar gun pretty easy on 30%. Aeromarine said I should be able to get 50 if I get it really tweaked out, but I don't see it happening. I can pull an x440 all day long. M440 gets me the 42/43 mph. I have tried an x445 and seen 45mph, but everything has to be perfect to pull it. If it comes off the pipe with the 445 , it won't come back on. Might be able to pull it with 50% nitro, but haven't tried it. Seems like when this boat is off the pipe, it settles fairly deep in the water. Then the prop load is to high to get it spinning up again.

Thanks for the info, but don't think getting a 20 seaducer off the water is easy either. they run super wettttt..... I am running a prather 215, 50%, rs7 and i am having the same issue. "falls off pipe". But i have only taken it out to the lake twice. I am trying subsurface and cut the 215 a little. next step is the 20 cat or a new boat with the 36 inch cat with a cmb 67 HR on it.

Taz,

if you do a quick check on the Aeromarine site you will notice that the 29" Cat is designated as a Sprint Cat .21/45, I don't see any problems with the .46

Taz,
I stuffed that very motor in mine for a while. It was entertaining, but really to much. Boat would run low 50's no problem. Had to set it up to run flat, and even then put 4 oz lead on the front. It would still lift off and fly quite often. Did some spectacular aerobatics before splashing down.
BTW, I don't know how the os46 stacks up power wise to a CMB or Mac, but it is a great running motor. I have mine in another boat now and have put many tanks through it. Absolutely the most reliable, easiest tuning, nitro motor I have.

Can we get some more posts in here?? The CMB rs7 runs great in the 20 seaducer, hitting around 40mph, but i notice that it wastes too much power on picking this 33 inch seaducer out of the water. My question.... I am almost sure it's easier to pick up a cat than a vee..... Therefore going faster on the cat... Remeber the seaducer is now 33 inches of a "flat" boat. Meanwhile the cat will help the engine becuase inner tunnel of air.

I don't recall what the cg was with the .46. That was a couple years ago. I just remember that I had to run some down angle in the strut and put some lead in the nose. It would do 50 even running real wet. When it hit some chop and packed the tunnel with air(like you would want for top speed), it would noticeable accelerate, often resulting in lift off. Sometimes it would fly 50 or 60 feet about 4 ft off the water before crashing down. Did land the back flip a couple of times and keep going. Too much retrieving and drying out to be fun in the long run.
Oh and I that stuff about the .46 needing a .67 tuned pipe has been discussed on here before. You can search it. The short version is that no one really understand why the manual says that. I have always run with a OPS .45 pipe and had no problems.

thanks fast9 for the useful hints about the 46 in the 30inch cat i think i will fit a smaller engine .i think i will fit the engine in a 36 inch hull that is currently with a rossi 65 engine .as the rossi 65 is a bit hard to find parts.

alright guys! once again i took out the boat to the lake today! what a rocket! 33inch seaducer, prather 215 prop, sub surface, rs7, ops3280 pipe, 50% odonnel fuel. The lake was FLAT, no ripples, nothing. The boat is picking off the water and hitting from 44-45mph on gps, but...... i burn glow plugs. more reasonable "rich" hits 42-43 on gps. I can't wait to see this boat with some ripple action. Mind you it still runs a little wet. Still wondering if this set up would do better with this 30 inch cat.... Thanks!
