well....Nitro would be the miss vegas, but if you want somthing faster then that,it would be Grims boat that he design, that aquacrafts UL-1 FE boat..been hearing its running hight 40's if you put better battery packs there getting 50+ out of it...This is the boat I'm talking about... I'd started a thread on it on the electric forum and it gotton big!!!!!!!!! here the thread on it..[link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8054040/tm.htm[/link] The boats I'd listed are out of the box fast. Or are looking for one that is mod??[&:]

try 50-75 dollars differents since the vegas is on sale.. But if you real real want a fast boat that is out of the box fast!! It would be Aquacraft UL-1 superior FE!!! This boat I bet will out sell and be more popluar then the Miss Vegas because lot of ponds areas are cracking down on nitro's&gas boats because of there loud noise they make...But if you like nitro's and money is not option to you.. Then get a vegas or proboat. Then get a built-hot moded.18 like the O.S.18TZ like A-ZRacing is doing up...Then throw that in your vegas or proboat.. Saw a vegas video with a O.S.18TZ getting 53mhp.. Not bad but still doesnt beat Johnny's Proboat that gets 55MHP!!!![>:] We're working on getting a boat to go 55+maybe 60MHP???

I think I might be getting the Proboat as a start since stock it gets close to 60 KMH or 37MPH... I kinda like the smaller scale... will in future be getting one of those modded OS motors for sure... thats where I got the bite to buy this boat, on Youtube seeing that motor in the Proboat and doing 55 MPH...

Switch,

The pro boat will not do 37mph out of the box and the one that you have seen on youtube doing 55mph was achieved by A - ZRacing with some substantial work done to the boat, hardware upgrade, prop upgrade, tune pipe upgrade and using one of their highly modified OS .18TZ.

we are talking about some serious work and a fair chunk of money.

However, if that is what you want to do.....go for it.

Dan.

I'm with Dan ,you might not be happy with the proboat when you find out all the stuff you have to do to get it to run with a vegas.

what does the stock Proboat Hydro 1/12th scale do on water? what speed will be achieved? I saw on their site somewhere it can do 37 but you guys will know better having experience and all... I need something fast in the 1/12th scale range because I like the small size and also cost suits my pocket... 1/12 Formula RTR Hydro is what I want... what speed will it do? what do think is the fastest around in this scale?

I recently purchased an Aquacraft Miss Vegas after alot of research talking to people here and at my local club. The MV won because of several factors: I felt it had much better construction, better handling, better hardware, and alot more room under the canopy for working on the boat, or for future mods. The only reason to choose the Proboat (for me) would be the scale appearance. But, I felt like I would sacrifice alot for looks alone. Speed out of the box with a new metal prop was 35. You can spend some $$ and really mod it out and be close to, if not over 50 mph.

Switch_639, I have owned both Proboats and Miss Vegas boats, I personally like the Proboat because it looks like the real hydroplanes and in my opinion the hulls glass work is better.

I hit 50mph with my proboat and all I did to it was get a OS 18CVR, MAC Pipe, and a Octura M437/3 blade prop.

I wasnt impressed with the Vegas, shoddy glass work, cheap paint, the stock engine is hard to tune, and really is no faster than a stock proboat. Not to start to fight but Its my opinion that this site is a Vegas freindly site, most of the opinions will point you in that direction, but Ill take a Proboat over a Vegas anyday.

In all fairness to Miss Vegas, It is easier work on for sure, and the running hardware is a little beefier than the proboats

Maybe you should look into A-Zracings website and give KC a call, he can help you get a 1/12 RTR for around $325. You have to spend a lot more than that to get a Proboat or Vegas to hit the speeds the A-Z boat does out of the box.

Here is mine and I love it, with the os TZ it hits speeds over 50mph easily. In fact my club has put me in with the sport 20 guys because my boat is to fast for small block modified.

I think you should checl out the Miss Emily. It's an old school shovel nose hydro. This RTR has all the good stuff right out of the box. A friend of mine has already got his and mine is on the way. Should out run the vegas and the probaot out of the box.
My buddy already has a post on here about it, or check out the link. Comes with lots of hop-up already done for you.

I guess if we are talking about the fastest RTR ... out of the box I think anything would have a hard time beating the Miss Emily. It just has too much going for it.

Kyle, is that a proboat? If it is, what happened to the front stablizer. I also noticed that a lot of the fast proboats lost the front stablizer/wing which doesn't make it look like the real thing any longer. Why is that?
