Well....having given this question 8 years and 5 Saito engines I can say: Yes trust them by all means... If you take the time to learn how they work and how to maintain and operate one. IF you just fiddle around in guess work hoping to get lucky you wont have much success.

To make it as clear as possible...
Run it in as it says in the instructions (from Saito, not some random "he said")
Put in a new os fs plug.
Set the carb to idle nicely and just rich at full throttle (again as per Saito instructions)
Fly and fly again.
I have just pulled out a 91 Saito not used for two years, and flew it, the idle and top end was perfect, i didnt fiddle, why fix whats not broken?
I think because of the rep Saito has to people they get over "fiddled" and this adds to the rep, I can't believe how consistant my Saitos are best value ever.Period.

Best 4 stoke I owned was a Saito .56 High Cam. Loved it. Capt,n
