T-Rex -Need Help with belt drive gear

I was flying this morning when my I suddenly lost control of the tail rotor on my Trex. I descovered the top of the tail drive gear was gone and the belt slipped off. Is it a 2 peice gear and the top retainer just pop off, or is it 1 peice and the belt sliced it into 2. The reson I want to know is I don't want to split the frames to swap a gear when I could just buy another tail gear assembly and rob the top and place it on the heli...

Use a gear puller.
If you're very adept you can use long nose pliers, but get a gear puller from the LHS which makes it a simple task.

I picked up a gear set this morning and I was able to pull the top of the gear off without any tools. This explains what happen to my heli. I've pressed it on the gear that's in my heli and used locktight to help keep it from popping off again. I'm headed out to fly....
