Default Normal pitch and throttle curve

Just wondering what would be the Normal Pitch and Throttle curve for T-rex. The heli would only be flown for hoovering NO 3D yet. Thank you.

juneebear-
It would help if we knew what kind of radio you have. Some radios have a 3-point pitch curve, some have a 5-point curve, and some others may have as much as a 15-point curve. I have a Futaba T6EX 2.4GHz, which has 5-point curves. For normal mode, I use 0/25/50/75/100% for the throttle curve and 8/25/43/75/100% on pitch. The odd numbers there are so that my middle point is exactly 0Ëš pitch and my low point is exactly -11Ëš. Some people may have as less as -2Ëš or -1Ëš of pitch on low stick, but I like to have my normal curves identical to my idle up curves. However, I do mild 3D so -11Ëš would be too much for someone just hovering.

For hovering and no 3D, I would go for a similar throttle curve, but maybe tweak the pitch curve so you have -2Ëš on low stick and +10Ëš on high stick. Make sure middle stick is 0Ëš pitch on all curves. Again, these are baseline curves and everyone likes something different, so find out what works best for you.

wrxsti02,

Thank you for your response.
Right now I am using the JR XP6102 which has a 5 point curve. Please will someone tell me if I am using the right values. By the way I am only doing hovering, NO 3D yet.

PITCH Curve : 50 69 83 93 100

Throttle Curve : 0 30 65 85 100

Blade pitch are as follows : 0 at Low
5 at Mid stick
11 at Full throttle

I am thinking of upgrading my TX to either the JR 8103, JR9303 or the JR 10x. I am still picking which TX to purchase.Thank you in advance

For pitch curves there is really no point in listing values here. Everyones will vary to some degree depending on how they set the rest of the head up, servos, servo arm hole, ect

for a beginner or sport flyer is perfect as follows

Pitch Normal : 0, 6, 10 (low degrees,mid degrees,top degrees)

Idle up : -10, 0, 10 (low degrees,mid degrees,top degrees)

Throttle can honestly be 0,30,50,80,100 for normal and the idle up will vary on taste, some like 100,95,90,95,100 and some do a flat curve at the top, depends on the person for idle up.

It isn't rocket science for learning, as long as the system runs cool in temp, you are getting flight times like everyone else is, and you are having fun while learning the hobby (helicopters) then you are doing it right.

Just my 2 cents. I really suggest using -2 to -3 degrees of pitch at low stick so you can get the heli down with power. On windy days the heli will baloon on you. 0 pitch will get you down but you are a little short on power and will have to bang power sometime to stop the decent.

dooleyje hit it right on the head. If you do not have any negative pitch the wind could take the heli since tou have no power to get it down. I would recommend at least -4 to -5 since these helis are light a bigger nitro heli you could get away with -2.

I will not list my pitch values from my radio but will list the outcome of those values. The top half of my pitch curves are the same so I experience no balloon effect when switching from normal to idle up, the same goes for my throttle curve as well.

Normal
Pitch -5 0 +11
Throttle 0 45 85 93 100

Idle1
Pitch -11 0 +11
Throttle 100 93 85 93 100

Idle2
Pitch -11 0 +11
Throttle 100 95 90 95 100

Default RE: Normal pitch and throttle curve

I have a question in regard to this subject.

In normal I'm running two normal modes to get use to the bird.
-2 to 11+
0-50-65-85-100
And 0-50-80-In-100.

I fly the sim alot and am ready to move on so i programmed the sport flying mode in Idle 2.
-6 to 11+
100-85-80-85-100

Is this (-6) enough negative pitch to try stationary rolls and loops or do i need to go to a full -11 to +11 setup for this ????????

Just thought I'd try and take it slow and try the sport flying setup first.
