Show me your canopies!
I've got a RC Tek Sky Shark. It came with a blank plastic canopy and a fiberglass canopy. I've been looking for artistic inspiration for painting my canopies. Here is what I've got so far. I may order up a few more canopies just because they're just so much fun to prep and paint. Any how, I'd like to see some of your creativity. Tomorrow I'll paint the windshield part white for visual contrast and then plant a few custom made stickers on them.

Your canopies look nice!
I am too lazy to paint my own so I just bought one from Ace Helis over on RunRyder. I love the way it looks but I have only flow it a couple of times becuase I am afraid of crashing and hurting it. Because of this I just fly with the Yellow and Blue [link=http://www.readyheli.com/Align_450_Painted_Canopy_Light_yellow_HS1225_p/hs1225.htm]Align Fiberglass Canopy[/link].

I dont really sell them online.. locally the other fliers get their canopies painted for the design that they want... they just send it over to get it painted....

My friend, you should do this and sell them at least on Ebay.
I would buy for sure if the price was right of course.
Maybe one day ?
Take care.

Hello RussWisc,
If you want you can get a canopy painted when you come around. of if you want they can send it to you. The painter of my canopies is my brother.. i give him the design that I want and he is the one that does the paint jobs... currently there are a lot of projects canopies that are being painted... mostly are the big Maxum helis and some hirobo's...
if you want to get your canopy painted and sent to you get in contact with gopedasia.. you can find him a rcphilippines.com... he and my brother are handling the painting business....

soneebee,
When I get home to the Philippines I'll make sure to bring my canopies and have them painted. I love the one with the Philippine flag. Infact I like them all. Great job. Hope to see you there soon.

wow great looking canopies!! i've been airbrushing RC things for a while but i cannot figure out how to paint these canopies, you cant paint the inside? therefore you would need some kind of clearcoat? but wouldent that make it heavier...if you wouldent mind helping out, any advice would be appriciated!!!

the Df60 and DF36 were painted inside.. its kinda hard to paint inside.. cause the paint kinda scaters... if you are painting the inside of the polycarb canopy.. you have to do it inversely... from the one on the outer back to the background.... kind harder.. its easier to do in outside the canopy.. just use clear coat...

RE: Show me your canopies!
I like both the black and the blue. To be honest I've only flown 3 times with the canopy on. I figure the battery and motor enjoy the fresh air. I'm also under the impression that things will run cooler without the canopy. If things run cooler, they'll run longer. I hope.
Anyhow, yes, I used just plain ole' flat black on the black canopy. The blue is testors flourescent blue.
I'll order up some more canopies after Christmas so I can play around with more colors and textures. This is slightly almost as much fun as flying.
