Default Need some help...

Ok I had a good crash. I went in the dirt tail first. I had to replaced the boom, tailhousing (upgraded with copter x metal tail), main shaft and feather shaft, blades (325 pros), and new belt. Now the problem I am having is when at hover the whole heli will oscillate up and down from tail to nose. about a inch or so. It will go away in idle up. I have messed with the gain on the gyro (gy240) and the head seems to be balanced. on the ground it seems fine also. So has anyone ran into this befor. The only other things I can think of is the main head block or the main gear. Oh its a metal head on this bird also.

trex 450 sa
metal head
metal swash
hs65hb all around
gy240
copter x tail housing
mavrikk belt
align motor 3550k
and align esc

thanks for any and all help

Sounds like the tail shaft is bent. Or the tail blades are out of balance. Thats what usually causes the tail up/down wobble for me.

if you use the fuselage as a a vertical point of reference, check to see that everything is perpendicular and straight. your tail rotor housing may be at a slight angle, like a twist. just something random to check.

thanks guys I will check the twist of the tail, and the blades track fine. Thats whats weird about it I dont see any vibration in the head . I am going to see if I can post a video of this in action tonight. If it stops raining long enough for me to go out side and fly.

Thanks For the help.

Ok i have a vid. Two problems with it. Its a very windy day so it was hard to keep still and I had my 11 year old daughter taping so the camera work isnt the greatest. If you watch it the whole heli will move forward and back.

Yes that is the perfect way to discribe it. I couldnt figure out how to explain it. Its driving me nuts. I have installed a new main gear also. The only thing I can think of is if the main head block is tweeked a bit. I cant find anything bent in the frame or head. Links look straight.

PS I will try for some better vidio tomorrow, and have the wife take it. (lol)

Ok finally figured it out after taking it apart for the third time. The first two times I didnt notice the slight bind in the swash. Replaced the swash and the see saw action was gone. It was binding in the center ball thing.

Thanks for everyone that helped.
