Default T-Rex 600e choices! Should I wait?

I am a T-Rex 450 SE V2 owner, who after a weekend at the park, think that it's time to "GO BIG!" I got the T-Rex 450 as a practice flyer when I moved from simulator and got my got control over my fear. I am still not ready for 3D flight but I do have basic flight down.

I have patiently waited long enough to jump into a 600e and with my birthday coming up Friday, it's time I ask my wife to support my habit. But, which 600e? When I went to order my 600e I noticed Helihobby has 600ESP's on order and they seem to be next gen of the 600 series. The new build seems to be built for smootheness and better 3D flight, but is it worth waiting for or I am good with just picking up the current 600e version? Opinions are great appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I have been looking at the 600E myself.
From what I can see, the ESP is a better deal.
You get the new 650 motor instead of the 600
A 100A ESC instead of a 75A unit.
A 6A BEC instead of a 3A.
And a set of carbon fiber main blades.
All for $65 more.
I like it

Yes indeed! I think I'll just wait it out. I want to go bigger and going to a 500 is just a small hiccup to getting something new! Thanks for the input EW!

The stock 600e fly's well without all the bling. That said, what you get with the ESP is is a good value if you planed to build it with the upgrades. I would order the ESP.

I have the "old" version of the 600 and it is my favorite of my 3 T-Rex's. If you must have new, wait for the new version to come out. The 650l motor is getting some good reviews and it will hopefully last longer than the old 600XL motors. The 100A speed control is a nice addition along with the full metal head, torque tube tail, and new servo arrangement.

With that being said, I picked up my 600 about a month ago used. I paid about 50% of what the orginal builder had in it. My 600cf came setup with 600mm VBlades, Castle Creations Phoenix HV85 esc, Steve Neu 1515/2.5D/H/F motor, Futaba 9252 servos on the swash, Logictech 6100T Gyro/servo, Align 6A Voltage regulator, metal grips, carbon tail blades, torque tube tail, AR7100 receiver, 4 6s 5000mah packs(3 Flight Power - 1 Thunder Power), and a Thunder Power 1010C/210V charger/balancer. I was able to get all of this for what the 4 lipos would have cost me new. It was like getting the heli and the charging setup for free!

This heli flies much better than my thumbs can so the new 600 would be nice but I am very happy with mine at this time.

There are some great deals out there if you look around and are willing to buy used.

Thanks to everyone who has replied! I really appreciate the feedback. I'm addicted to heli's and want to go noticeable bigger and the 500 is just not it. I'm going to test my patience and wait for the ESP. I just know the longer I wait, something will come up preventing me from buying. [:@]

Nice 600 BT. Love the canopy, and a great deal to boot. I just upgraded to the 100a ESC on my 600e and it runs much cooler that the stock 75a. I have the new 6a BEC as well. Mine has only about 20 flights but so far I am happy with the 600xl for power, and the heli fly's a whole bunch better that my skill level will take it. I see the new 600 has a machined metal main gear. I am guessing they felt they could not get the plastic gears round enough. Mine had a high spot but I set the backlash on that area and all seems okay so far. I cant help but wonder if the trade off is better, metal gear may cause more motor damage in a crash. But, I guess you dont design a heli planning to crash. LOL They also flipped the cyclic servos over. I had to cut holes in my canopy for the arms to clear. I scanned the ads over at runryder and saw a couple of really good deals on 600's. Not a bad way to go at all.

It has been a while since I bought my 600CF. I paid $625 at my LHS and it did not come with main blades (I paid $70 for a set of Mavrikk blades) or a battery (I paid $175 for an Align 6s pack with the coupon that came with the heli) along with extra metal parts in the head, upgraded motor and electronics the ESP looks like a pretty good deal

Nice vid FTC! I'm sold on the 600e but I don't know if I can wait for the 600esp. No eta? That sucks. What I may do is buy the electronics and have them waiting.

I have a DX6i tx that I use for my 450se so all I need is a rx (AR6200), a GY401 and a set of servos. Not sure which Futabas to get but I do see that either the S9257 or S9254 is being used on the tail. I'm not too keen on batteries and right now I think I may need a new charger also. I have the Hobbico Accu-Cycle Elite but I'm not sure if it would power a 600 size battery. Any advice would be great here. Thanks

The Accu-Cycle Elite will only charge up to 3S lipo. The 600 uses a 6S lipo for the main drive and seperate 2S to power the rest of the electronics.
I use an Astro Flight 109 along with a Blinky balancer

Of course there are many other choices out there IMO the Accu-Cycle just doesn't cut it for this application.

Dude!
You are worse than I am.
You know you are just going to torture the hell out of yourself by buying all those parts with no heli to hang em on.
