RC560 works great. It might seem thin. It looks like Elmers, if people still know what Elmers looks like. You will need to cut away a small strip of monokote off the fuselage where the canopy will contact it. Or you can scuff the monokote with sand paper. Put a small bead of RC560 around the canopy, small. Then set it aside, go smoke a cig. Wait about 15 minutes. Let the glue form a skin like pudding. Once that has formed, then tape it to the fuselage. Leave it be for at least 12 hours.
Clean up any glue with a wet paper towel before it dries. This glue is flexible and shock resistant. It last for years and is very strong. It is just alittle tricky to use. And it dries nearly clear.
good luck

If you don't mind the appearance , I use clear scotch tape. For some reason this tape sticks like a MF on the plastic and mono-cote. I used this method on 2 sailplanes and my Extra 300 .25.

This method aint bad, but lends itself to some canopies better than others. It glues it down for the most part and then tape does the rest.
Position the canopy where it needs to go and use pinstripe tape, just as if you were not using any glue, but leave a space where you can squirt a dilluted mix down the seam inside, and let it run down the seam using gravity and try to form a nice fillet by rolling it around. Do one side at a time so you can keep the glue positioned as it sets up. Careful not to let it roll up past the edge of the pinstripe or you'll see it, and wont be able to wipe it.

I do the same as mscic-RCU. I use a strip of covering attached to the canopy and to the plane. Use a scrap piece of the canopy to practice on and get the temperature setting of you iron right. I've been doing it this way for about 7 years and have never had a canopy come off in flight. An added bonus is that if you ever need to get back inside of your canopy you can just cut the covering, and then put a new strip back on to reattach it.
Hope this helps

Big tip - if you're using canopy glue don't leave it in the sun before you use it like I did. It heats up nicely, gets really runny, then pours out all over your canopy like water when you go to run a bead of it.
It can lead to a panicked rush to the kitchen sink accompanied by girlish screams in order to wash it off before it ruins the canopy. Or so I've heard, anyway. *ahem*

I have found that on some canopy designs (non warbird) the RC560 adhesive seems to work well if you can find a way to tape it in position for glue to dry and get off all excess so the appearance is acceptable. I just mark around the canopy on outside and put pin holes all around inside of this line-holds well so far-course on scale planes, glue looks kind of tacky(no pun intended). If I was going to use a pilot, I would not glue on canopy-use some small screws-usually found in train department in LHS.

careful of using ca, even plastizap. Many plastics get white out, opaque migration, and are much more prone to cracking. If you work neatly you can also use zap a dap a doo, or similar.

The trick is too quickly wipe off any drips with a wet paper towel. After that the glue does not run as much and stops flowing. Use electrical tape after you get it in the right spot. Also maybe you used too much glue. It takes doing one or two before you are an expert. Trust me this is the right way to attach a canopy, stay with it.

This is what I do:
Clean both surfaces with alcohol
Pin canopy in position
use a pencil to outline canopy on fuselage
remove canopy
mask off about 3/32 off the pencil line
Use GE silicone household adhesive (clear RTV )
Apply a small bead ON the line
Place canopy back into position with the pins
Carefully smooth the RTV that flows out
Remove tape and let set for 24 hours
Regards
