Default cant decide...23mmwabash/bowties or 14mmvelocity/crimefighters

i really want to get the wabash wheel with bowties for my revo but i heard that the bigger hex puts more of a strain on your driveline, and you have to change your gearing???, any truth to this???

if thats true im probably just going to go with the stock hex size with the velocity wheel and either bowtie or crimefighters

Get hurricane wheels and response tires. They work great. If you put on the wabash wheels it does make it harder for the motor to turn them. I run a .23 Sirio with response tires. The smaller the weel/tire combo, the faster the truck!

I have the Bow ties on Velocity's they hook up very well on all types of surfaces. I have not had any problems with speed or Stress on any parts. I have just over a gallon of run time on them and I don't see any wear. I run on grass and hard pack, a little street also.

i run wabash bowties and love em, but if i were to try anything eles it would be the standard offset velocity wheels with the new bow tie mt tire. its a little narrower, i think that will help with traction.
i have had zero probs with my 23mm hexs.... i am running rpm carriers with the over sized bearing tho.

I have crime fighters on 23mm wabash wheels with stock drivetrain. O.S. .18TM power zero problems. What kind of problems were people gaving with them?

I have just heard alot of ppl saving that with the 23 mm hex nut that it put a lot of load on bearing carriers. I don't have any experience with them I am just saying that what I am using work's with no problems. I beleave it is a toss up between Crime frighter and Bow ties.

Default RE: cant decide...23mmwabash/bowties or 14mmvelocity/crimefighters

I had wabash and 23mm hubs and the bow ties...before getting the rpm carriers (with much larger bearings) I broke at least 4 axles and a coupe bearings from jumping, etc. The 23mm put extra stress on the outer bearings in the carriers...hence the rpm upgrade that I did and revopqrs has above. If you are racing, I think they are great..for bashing, I went back to stock 14mm and regular size tires. One more thing, the smaller the tire the LOWER top speed you will have (it will be quicker though). May need to adjust your gearing to compensate for a smaller or larger tire (larger has the opposite affect on speed)

I beleave that it is 1/2 inch wider than stock. With the dish wheel's on my revo looks wider than with the stock wheels on.
