this should have been a poll. i like bashing better cause you can do what you want, raceing you have to go around the track.

RE: Bashing or racing
Both, I normally bash though. We only do races every 2 weeks during the summer, so it's more bashing. I would do both though. I like them both equally. Racing because it's the only time I ever to get to drive with somebody else, but bashing because theres not any barries to keep me in the same spot.

i would have to disagree about the fact that racing requires more precision driving... it requires you to one direction to go, yes, but precision driving comes in when you are inches away from smacking a tree or building, and dodging under the cars so you dont smoke a tire... and i have never seen anyone take a truck off a track jump and do a double backflip(intentionaly)... yea you have to watch out for the other cars, but they go the same direction as you(normaly) but when you are out on the street bashing the cars on the road are larger, and can crush an rc, and sometimes they are going the opposite direction!... and like in racing, if you screw up, you might hit that tree, building, or car, thats where the precision comes in the best, you have to put the puzzle back together...
no i am not saying bashing and racing are equaly difficult, that is not true, but these one line posts are kind of boring to read, how bout we include some stories about the one you like better and make this thread actually worth reading, as 125 indirectly stated...

Have you ever raced, in an organized event? Most bashers think they are excellent drivers... until they go racing. I'm 90% basher too, so I'm not just defending my own preferences here.

RE: Bashing or racing
I think the guy meant precision driving as in holding a line and clearing jumps perfectly. I dunno about you but on tracks, even though the jumps are small, the semi-decent racers can launch their truck off every jump on the track and land perfectly in line with the downramp and they land at the top so they get more time on the actual track. I don't think I could do that without some practice. I still reckon freestyle motocross and motocross takes more skill though, 40 ft high in the air over a 150 ft gap and you have to land perfect, pretty hairy stuff haha. I'm a basher, when I get my revo I will set up a track in my yard and practice until I'm half good so I don't look like a complete tool at the track, lol.

I am a basher all the way...tried running my truck on the track with no other cars there and I suck badly! Racing takes a great amount of skill.

RE: Bashing or racing
I bashed a little when I got into r/c a few years ago. Now my truck only sees daylight when I'm tuning on it or if I'm racing. I found out I was ok at racing so I just stuck with it.
