EZ Start Glow Plugs
What are the best Glow Pugs to use with ez start? I have the OS .18tm motor.
Also I have been going though glow plugs like crazy, everytime i take a jump and wipe it and the motor kills it kills the glow plug, ever seen that before?
I was using the LC3 plugs.
Thanks,
Kooner

RE: EZ Start Glow Plugs
I would switch to a different brand of plug. I don't know what plug the OS motors like, but I have pretty good luck with the McCoy mc59. I've got about a gallon through my 3.3 motor and only changed the plug once, that was right after break in...and probably didn't need to be changed then either. My Sirio .18 motor had 3 gallons through it and changed the glow plug maybe after each gallon. I've never heard of a plug going bad from a crash.

RE: EZ Start Glow Plugs
The blue lead may be a pain to get off and on, the traxxas plugs are designed with a point in the middle...I guess that's for the ez start wire to go on easier. I pulled my ez start off and use a regular glow ignitor with pull start. I'm pretty sure you can get the blue lead on there fine, just getting it off without destroying it might be difficult.

RE: EZ Start Glow Plugs
the LC3's are a long reach plug which means that the lead for the glow ignitor is pointed and longer to accomadate the EZ start plug wire.....I've burnt out so many of them I have switched to the OS hot plug and all has been fine so far....I removed the EZstart wire and use a conventional glow ignitor with the EZ start...its a bit of a pain but I have a few vehicles already that require the hand held ignitor anyways so no big deal to me....
I have found that when you have a battery in the EZ start that is not fully charged you can still get the truck started when you use a fully charged glow ignitor.......the glow ignitor wire on the EZ start when you are using a battery that is not fully charged doesn't heat up the plug enough due to the lower voltage from the battery so you have a hard time starting the truck and more times than not it won't start.....just another reason i use a handheld ignitor with the EZ start...
