To run it right out of the box using the EZ start you need one battery pack and some fuel. They are a blast to drive, enjoy it!!

Make sure you follow the break in procedure to the T.

you need 12aa bats. A 7.2v battery with tamiya style connector and a charger to charge that battery. Also fuel and after run oil and you can drive you truck. The trucks comes with the basic tools needed to work on it. Also in the stadium truck forum there is a jato thread with a lot of info.

Ho dont need the 6v receiver pack because you can use 4 AA batteries. The 6v pack makes a huge difference in response though.

1 7.2 v NiCd or NiMh battery with charger
12 aa batteries for the remote
4 aa for the receiver
1 gallon of 20% nitro 12% oil fuel
extra glow plugs for after break in
after run oil

If you plan on taking it off road the stock tires suck! You will want to upgrade the tires and wheels for good off road capabilities. You will want 2.2 size wheels like HPI agititor wheels and either Yokohama Geolander or Moabs. Once you do this it ups the funfactor big time.

remote only takes 8 batteries.

Also i would advise not using traxxas brand plugs. They are horriable and burn out really fast. I had one burn out in less then 5 mins of running with several other going in less then 10 tanks.

Uhhhhh...........Isn't 4 AA the same as 6v? 1.5 x 4 = 6.
go with the pack. longer run times.
Amperage baby, amperage

stay away from Traxxas plugs and fuel.....buy some sidewinder 20% a rechargeable reciever battery pack and charger....a stick pack and charger for the EZ start....the truck comes with some tools but you should have a pair of needlenose pliers and some zip ties..follow the instructions for break in and enjoy the truck

No!!!! AA batteries are 1.2v NOT 1.5. So 1.2v x 4 is 4.8v. You gat an extra 1.2 volts going to the electronics which in turn gives you quicker response.

Thats right but rechargable batteries have a much higher Mah rating than an alkaline. Alkaline batteries are only rated at about 400-600mah and most rechargable is rated at over 1500mah so the available amperage on rechargable is alot higher which means you get more available true voltage to the electronics. If you put a consistant amperage of 400 mah on an alkaline you are not going to get a true 1.5 to the electronics. Rechargable can handle more amperage for a much longer time and give a true voltage output to the electronics. The 6v pack will give better response than any alakaline batter would. But yes you were right about the voltage of the alkaline batteries. I was thinking rechargable because thats what most people use.
