here is a picture of my os.18tm's piston [link=http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd297/bigblock400/MyPictures0002.jpg]picture[/link] it is black what does that mean. here is a pic of the head [link=http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd297/bigblock400/MyPictures0001.jpg]picture[/link]
the temps were kinda high. this is with 2 gallons of 10% top fuel and almost 1 gallon of the 20%.

Traxxas fuel has Castor oil in it...a GOOD thing for bashing and general messin' around. When an engine gets real hot, the Castor will continue to provide protection long after most (all but the extremely expensive ) synthetic oils have burned off.
Those deposits aren't too bad considering almost 3 gal. through a small engine like that...and they are caused by the Castor getting very hot and forming varnish and a little carbon. A little varnish is not necessarily a bad thing...it will help seal a slightly loose piston/cylinder fit (for one thing ) and provide an extreme pressure/temp lube effect if the engine gets waaayyy too hot.
If you go to the RB Concept forums, you'll see that Castor is highly recommended...
If the engine still has a bit of "pinch" at TDC when you turn it over slowly (w/o plug ) then it should be o.k.
When you put the head back on, don't over torque the head bolts. After you just "bring them down" just enough to keep the sleeve from popping up when you turn the crank, turn it over to get a feel for the piston/sleeve fit or "pinch"...then gently torque the head bolts in an X pattern in at least 3 steps...feeling the "pinch" at each step.

yea...i tried to say something to traxxass before, and to kinda sum it up they said its a bashing fuel made to keep your engine alive longer...although after seeing some engines run on bryons i realy dont see much of a difference

sorry...what i had meant is that the extra oil doesnt make a difference...i didnt mean that bryons doesnt make a difference...my fualt for not clearly stating that
