Default picco versus 3.3 - is it worth the upgrade?

I just purchased my revo three months ago (used). Before I really got it tuned in well I began watching videos about the picco .26 and became interested. I recently bought a picco .28 (not yet installed) but now that I have learned to tune the car in I have noticed that the 3.3 is really fast and powerful. I wonder if buying a picco and motor mount really worth it? Is there a big jump in speed? The 3.3 is supposed to be good for 45mph - I have seen it clocked at 41mph - anyone have stats for the picco? How much faster is it really? The picco .28 is 3.1 hp, what is the 3.3 rated at?

noir522 I'm not sure how much power you want but I have the Picco .26 max in a Revo and the 3.3 is a joke, If you put the .28 in your Revo you may want to consider getting a Forward Only Conversion because you will get sick of flipping it back on its wheels all the time, the acceleration will be nuts.

Less rotaional mass in the trans=more power as well. I didn't want to get rid of reverse either at first but after teh conversion, you never even thought you had or used reverse in the first place.

my reverse select servo died so rather then get a new servo i got a foc for the same price ... and if you jump your truck it can some times select reverse after a hard landing foc takes care of this aswell

Personally I like having reverse.
I even installed it in my Savage (which does not come with reverse).
I just bash so I really cannot see where a bit of weight and rotational mass can/would make that big a difference
And, like I said, I like having reverse. But that's just me. Others preferences will be different

If you want to limit wheelies (or not have them at all) a center diff and rear brake is the way to go. Probably a good idea to atleast do the FOC, especially with that kind of power. After a tank or 2 you won't miss reverse at all. Let us know how it goes.
