Hey guys ive got a question?
I just got back into RC cars and I bought a used Nitro stampede for $50 bucks. i got it running pretty good it still needs some tuning but the problem im having is it revs up but it has such a hard time gettin up and going almost to the point that i have to give it a little push then it will take off. Any pointers on what may be wrong/worn out? maybe the clutch or the slipper gear?

i would say to check those 2 out (clutch and slipper) that sound just about right. if thats not it make sure its not too rich on the high and low.. good luck

alright sounds good ill check those out now since its out of order for a few days. me and my bro were runnin them around and my bro hit me head on with his s-maxx. exploded the front sunspension and chassy on the stampede and he only broke a turnbuckle.

RE: Hey guys ive got a question?
well i just pulled it all apart and the slipper gear is working great but the clutch is shot. the clutch pads are worn down to the sping that wraps around them so i gotta find a clutch rebuild kit or a new clutch. any recommendations? id rather not go stock cause i wanna build this truck up to be better and faster than stock.

its alright man. as soon as i get some more money i wanna do i big block conversion on it so i think i should just go with stock so i can atleast use it. unless ill be able to use the same clutch bell and gear on a big block?

If you are still runnin the stockengine then stick with stock clutch pads the gains you might see with aftermarket pads would be neglable at best and if you go alum there just gonna eat up your clutch bell faster.

A big block would blow your drivetrain to pieces. Way too heavy and a lot of unusable power. Waste of fuel, too. Upgrade to a O.S. .15 or another quality .15. Even the trx 2.5r would be a big improvement.
