Cooling concern on Edge 540T
I just mounted my DA 50 on my Edge 540 T and noticed that most of the cooling fins are obstructed by the cowl. I opened up quite a bit underneath but wondering if it is going to get enough air up front. Anyone have experience with this plane or cooling problems?

You will need to open up as much as is needed to cool the engine, and don't forget to allow hot air to exhaust. Either open a hole in the cowl or the vents in the bottom of the fuse just behind the gear. They are normally used with canisters but can be used to vent engine cooling if necessary.

RE: Cooling concern on Edge 540T
Tom,
I have opened up the area behind the engine, I was concerned about the area in front of the engine. I only opened it enough for the head to protrude. I think tail strike has the ans. in his first post. The second looks a little radical for me . I have a second question, with the cowl installed there is more space between the cowl and the spinner plate on the right side then on the left. With right thrust it should be the other way around. Can someone please check their plane and let me know if you see the same thing or is my firewall not correct?
