Default Which soft mount for 140 DZ

Well recived the DZ and it is a nice eng, I was wondering which soft mount to use on it ? It is going in my DP Ultimate.

I was looking at the Gator and the MK don't know anything about either of them, or which would be better for my application. Is there any others I may want to consider?

Thanks
Jeff

The Gator, Dave Brown, and others all work. The Cadillac is the Hyde mount, but the price is Cadillac, too. Pick one, install it correctly and it will work.
Good Flying,
Dave

Thanks for the imput Dave, I gave it some thought and since I belive that the YS DZ is a Cadillac IMHO it deserves a Cadillac Mount so I called Central back up and have the (Hyde ARIA mount) on the way for it.

Can't wait to get this airplane going :~)

Default Which soft mount for 140 DZ

Hi
I just got my DZ flying for the first time today !

Gooood grief it blew me away! Its in a Sig 300ex about 11-13 lbs. -didnt weight it- 15 1/2 x13 apc 20/20 fuel ground tach was 7800 w\restricter

This thing leaped of the runway in about 4-5ft and started climbing.
I leveled out and brought it to half power and it was still a bat outa hell. got it trimmed and the throws were to high for the old settings so I didnt try to many aerobatics. A half power loop, nice and big with no effort! Vertical? you want vertical? this thing might give the shuttle a run for its money

This mill is worth every red cent. Oh yeah.. idle was superb at 2400 and after landing it was just ticking over, had to be less than 2000! I was too fired up to think of taching it to see what the r's were.

Its a sweetheart, your gonna love it

YS has done it again!!!!!!

HAPPY flying

That is great to hear, I am moving a little slower on my prodject than expected do to work schedule.

I am really looking forward to getting this eng running, I am going to start out with a 17 X 10 APC and hope to get the RPM in the mid 8000 range.

Default AH!! I know you!

The Duellist builder that got me going on Helis!

Let me know how that soft mount works, I got a 140L going on a light plane,,,,soft mount might be good!

And as for the helis......I usually only crash when I go to the field...

as for soft mounts I used a J-Tec 90-120 mnt that has grommets built in. Seems to work ok but I did have a broken aileron servo when I landed. I cant really blame the mnt. I may have had a fractured gear to start. I did have way to much throw and that may have contributed.

wow, what a mill! still stoked 12 hrs later

Glad you like the new monster!

It's just amazing how much horsepower YS has been able to ring out of a 140.

After you get a little time on it, put some Cool Power 30% heli fuel in and hang on to your hat!!!

Good Flying,

Dave

Want power??

This past weekend, it was dam hot at the contest 40C+ so I put in some 30% just to make sure that it would pull my 9.3 lbs plane

I hit 8500 on an APC 16.5x12W, I had an unlimited climb from takeoff running about 6500 rpm This motor hauls!! It just never stops going up at full throttle in a vertical
